Introduction
The Golden Age of Atlantis is one of the most enduring and magical myths of all time. First mentioned by Plato in the fourth century BC, the Atlantean civilisation is said to have possessed incredibly advanced technological and psychic powers. It has even been suggested that the Biblical Garden of Eden is based on a distant memory of this spiritually evolved and harmonious society. Atlantis perished under cataclysmic circumstances, all traces of its civilisation disappearing under the sea.Legend has it that a few survivors managed to reach other lands, bringing fragments of their advanced knowledge and culture with them.
Plato claimed that it was an Egyptian priest who first brought the legend to Greece. This is interesting because channelled sources have many times suggested that survivors of Atlantis settled inAncient Egypt. It is a possibility that Egypt’s advanced knowledge of magic and the healing arts was an inheritance of the Atlantean cataclysm. It has also been suggested that the Great Pyramid was built usingAtlantean technology.
Interested in all these ideas, I decided to meditate on a deeper understanding of the Atlantis myth. Set out below is the information that I received from Spirit.
Meditation
The first picture that came into my mind was that of a long line of people in single file walking towards the left. I could see many hundreds of people following each other. The line went right back into the far distance. My first thought was that this is an Exodus. It is a tribe of people moving out of their homeland. They are all good people because they are dressed in white, the colour of purity.
The clothes that these people were wearing gave me an understanding of why they were moving out of their homeland. They were all dressed in identical white contamination suits, with big round ‘diving bell’ helmets and huge goggles to protect their eyes. The idea here is of extreme pollution. Something terrible had destroyed their land, so that they could not live there any longer. They were not going by choice. Some kind of plague had occurred.
The pictures that I see in my mind’s eye can often be read on more than one level. There are sometimes several meanings, and this is the case here. The huge diving bell helmet and massive goggles are also symbolic of the reason why a plague came to the land. I am being shown that the majority of the Atlantean race had lost its way spiritually. Their minds had become corrupted by power, and their great psychic and technological skills were being used for evil and personal material gain. In a sense, their spiritual purity has been polluted or contaminated.
The few remaining truly spiritual Atlanteans decided to leave while they still could. They made reed boats and managed to set sail, landing on the coast of North Africa. Some survivors settled in Egypt, bringing their highly advanced culture and esoteric knowledge with them. Others settled in Greece.
Next I saw the head of a lion, and heard the name ‘Mut’. A fierce fire glowed behind her eyes and from within her mouth. This lion is extremely angry.
After some research I discovered that Mut is an Ancient Egyptian goddess, sometimes depicted as a lioness. She is shown here as a male to emphasize the violence of her emotions. According to Ancient Egyptian texts the goddess Mut oversaw the natural rhythms of the heavens and Earth. Here,Mut’s anger is undoubtedly caused by the Atlanteans total disregard for the natural rhythms and cycles of life. Deeply upset by the misuse and abuse of power, Mut’s anger is symbolised by this internal fire, which could explode at any moment.
Mut is one of the many Egyptian and Greek gods who came originally from the Atlantis Continent..Others include Thoth, Egyptian god of writing and sacred sound, Bast, Egyptian cat goddess of warfare, and Poseidon, Greek God of the Sea.The few Atlantean who escaped the catastrophe took their deities with them to their new homelands.
As so often with symbols, there is a double meaning to the image of Mut. We are being told two aspects of the story at the same time. The lion also represents a volcano. Rumbling and glowing, there are constant emissions of sulphurous gases and ash. Crops can no longer grow. The Atlanteans see it as a plague on the land. Mut is angry, activating the volcano in order to destroy the Atlantean culture once and for all. Just in advance of the final massive eruption which completely destroys the island, the few good Atlanteans manage to escape.
The volcanic eruptions caused pollution for hundreds of miles radius. Only those who had already sailed survived the catastrophe.
We now go back in time. I am shown scenes from before the final destruction of the island . I see a solid gold statue of the Egyptian cat goddess Bast. She holds a revolver in her left hand, pointing it up towards the sky.Bast is the goddess of warfare, but here we are being shown an image of terrorism and anarchy. Society is breaking down and the few Atlanteans still using their spiritual powers for good are being hounded and executed. They are in fear of their lives.
The Atlantis civilisation had been governed by a wise and benevolent priesthood. However, over time these elders became self important, abusing their position for power and personal gain. Their spirit became contaminated and they began to represent themselves as gods on earth. They became enthralled by earthly riches. The gold statue of Bast symbolises this worship of gold and the violence to which they would go to keep it.
My next vision is of a man wearing a long conical brown hat with a white fur trim. He is looking to the right, and stooping slightly. This picture symbolises the Atlanteans’ exploitation of wealth from the earth (brown) for their own comfort (white fur trim). Instead of connecting to Spirit and receiving the higher energies, the Atlanteans are now earthbound and focussed on material wealth. Even those with good intentions were losing their connection with Spirit.
I now see an intricately designed square of gold filigree metalwork. It is exquisite workmanship. In the centre, and attached, is the head of a beautiful lady, wearing a turban. She is also gold but is alive, and moving her head.
This very beautiful but strange image symbolises the seductive power of gold. Head is now cut off from heart and body. They are totally wrapped up (turban) in worshipping the gold. The few remaining pure spirited Atlanteans tried to remind them of their true heritage, but they were far too seduced by their love of gold to listen. The good people were persecuted for their efforts.
There are now many similar gold heads with surrounding filigree metalwork floating down to Earth from the sky. It feels like an invasion. This time the colour is turquoise blue. The meaning here is that over time more and more people lost the connection between their heart and head. The seduction of gold became so powerful that they went in search of it across the seas (turquoise) trading where they could. Although it looked innocent and friendly enough, in reality they had lost their rich spiritual background. Slavery was brought in to mine the gold.
Towards the end of my meditation I am shown a large cone shaped mountain. A massive Cyclops eye fills the top third of the area. This is the volcano. It has been woken up from its slumbers. A huge explosion rips through the island. I see flying reptiles swooping down from the sky, now turning into birds of prey. Death and destruction is reigning down from the spiritual realms. The gods are furious.
I see people with shawls over their heads. They are trying to protect themselves, but it is impossible. Bodies hurtle to their death down a helter skelter. There is no hope for them. They are lost souls forever trapped in the depths of the nether regions. They must suffer for their evil ways. Darkness rules over the land while volcanic debris obliterates the sun for many years.
The final scene allows us a glimpse of the legacy of Atlantis. I see a layer of darkness on the horizon. It is covered by a layer of light and on top of that is built a church. This links us back to the first vision where the few pure Atlanteans escaped the doomed island continent. We are shown that there is an inheritance. Whilst the dark evil aspect of Atlantis was destroyed completely, the enlightened few did survive and managed to keep their culture alive. It became the foundation of other religions. Both the Ancient Egyptian and the Ancient Greek religions contain aspects of Atlantean heritage.
